"We - mother and 19 year old son - recently went on a jeep safari with Robin Ross and her Indian crew from Manali to Leh. It is no exaggeration to say that those were some of the most impressive weeks we have ever spent travelling. Robin, experienced for decades, not only with the culture and way of life in the Himalaya, but also with the mentality of the Pahari people, handled all intervening circumstances professionally and with great care. There were plenty of unforseen events while driving with jeeps on seemingly offroad paths through the impressive landscape of Kinnaur, Spiti, Lahaul and Ladakh up to the Nubra Valley: It's India! But with Robin and her crew we always felt safe in the mountains. We learned a lot about the culture, nature and people of the Himalaya, experiences, we both wouldn't want to miss."

Himalaya Road Safaris

Our Indian Himalaya Locally Assisted remote road tours are an independent holiday. Our English speaking, experienced local guide/cook and driver are with you in your hardy vehicle full time, while on the safari road tour.  Before and after the road tour you have local assistance from our guides where necessary in India to give you security.

You camp on a Himalaya road safari and drive with your driver over high passes in Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh from 3-10 days.

There's no tour leader so you have more freedom, yet you are assisted, to minimise the hassles. From the airport until your departure, assisted support gives you comfort and security yet leaves you free to move at your own pace.
